Miles Mottonen is a Holladay, Utah native who found his passion for orthopedic medicine through sport. He was part of a state championship basketball team at Olympus High School and played volleyball for the club team at the University of Utah. While at the University of Utah, he studied public health through his Health, Society, and Policy major and managed the L.S. Skaggs Patient Wellness Center, a rehabilitation center for members of the community with neurological/musculoskeletal conditions.
After finishing his undergraduate degree and completing the pre-requisites for PA school, Miles accepted a position as a Critical Care Tech at the Intermountain Medical Center Emergency Department where he worked during the heat of the COVID pandemic. After a year of working in emergency medicine, Miles attended the Midwestern University Physician Assistant program in Glendale, Arizona. Here he was given the opportunity to rotate at the Mayo Clinic with their orthopedic surgery team in Scottsdale.
In 2023, he began working with as a PA with Dr. Michael Metcalf at The Orthopedic Partners. Miles is very active in sports and loves to take advantage of the beautiful mountains we have in Utah through skiing, hiking, and mountain biking. He is also happy to challenge you to a game of pickleball.
