Post-Op
- Knee immobilized at 10° flexion
- Quad isometrics
- Straight leg raises
- Quadriceps contractions
At 2 weeks Post-op
- Passive range of motion–increase as tolerated
- Stationary bike–no resistance
- Non weight-bearing
- Begin NWB aquatic program if incisions are well healed
- Avoid isolated hamstring exercises until 6 months post-op.
4 Weeks
- Transition to full weight-bearing
- Brace 0° to 45° for ambulation if sufficient quad/li>
- Standing squat/toe raises/mini-squat quad exercise/li>
- Appropriate balance/proprioceptive activities i.e. baps and profitter.
6 weeks
- Brace 0° to 90°
8 weeks
- Squats/leg press/toe raises (low repetition)
- Quad-eccentric training
12 weeks
- Discontinue brace
6 months
- Prone hamstring curls
- Hamstring eccentrics
- Patterned activity
- Endurance training
9-12 months
- Returntosportswithdoctor’s release
